What do you say?

I have a dear friend who lost her baby last night. She was expected to arrive in April. They are delivering her stillborn today. I just don't know what to say to her. My heart aches at the thought of losing a baby. Our faith keeps us strong, even during the difficult times we can rejoice in the eternal plan our Father has created. My prayers are with her, her husband, and her two little boys.

Katy is having a girl!! Zoe Alexis Peterson! She is due June 23. I am so happy for her! For those who don't know who Katy is.....She is my best friend and other half! She is also my sister. :)

Never Shower Alone

It's 10:15 am on Wednesday, that means the last time mommy got to shower was what? Monday? I think? So into the shower I go, but preparation first!

1. Start a movie for Raedin and get him settled down.
2. Find a project for Evelynn to do (ex. coloring)
3. Bring the baby bouncer into bathroom with you
as she has just woken up and you can't trust
the other 2 kids to be alone with her yet.
4.Take a super fast shower: wash hair, scrub face, shave underarms
and half of each leg (ankle to knee). 10 min. tops
5. Step out of shower to find: door wide open,
Raedin with ALL of his cars on the bathroom floor,
Evelynn sitting in the doorway coloring, and the phone is ringing.

I would just switch to showering at night, or waking up super early before everyone else. But: My hair takes (on average) 2-3 hours to dry if it is down, pulled up takes 10. And who honestly blow dries their hair right before bed? (Besides, that still takes my hair 30+ minutes.) And as for waking up early. Heck no! I have a hard time climbing out of my warm bed by 9!

Hope to stay dry

Raedin is wearing big boy underwear for the first time ever today! He made me take all 7 pairs out of the package, line them along the foot of my bed, and took his timing choosing which to wear. (This is a very important moment in a young boys life and he wanted to be sure the first pair to grace his cheeks was the perfect pair.) So after deciding, I showed him which holes his legs went in and so on. "Alright buddy! Time to put your pants back on." "NO! I can't put my pants on! It will hide my underwear!" This is the downside of cute, licensed-character undies. They are so appealing to a small child, why would they want to cover it? Maybe that is why superheroes started putting theirs on the outside. So for now he is running around with his shirt, socks, hat, and undies on. Pants are on hold. And so far, I'm ok with it....

I have my fingers crossed that there will be no accidents.

Into The Woods

I've decided Nate needs some education in the musical department. I was singing show tunes to Afton last night and he thought "On My Own" was from Phantom of the Opera. (Gasp!) He should know better! Especially since Phantom happens to be one of my all time favorite movies and I've made him watch it many times. So...how to enlighten him?

Netflix

I signed us up last night, you can watch movies unlimited online! And we can stream it through the PS3 which means watching it on the big TV (ok it's 42", that's big for me) in high def! Not trying be a commercial here, but I really like the idea! Our first choice: Into the Woods. I remember watching it as a little kid and loving it. Nate laughed, enjoyed the music, and really got into it. I'm so happy to share this with him! Our next movie version will be Man of La Mancha with a side order of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. If anyone wants to join us in this adventure or has any recommendations let me know!
